BAKAD is the Transport Deal of the Year

Congratulations to our Infrastructure & PPP team (Nurlan Sholanov and Ardak Idayatova) for being mentioned on the list of the year's most noteworthy deals as well as the institutions that made them happen.

On 18 December 2020, 2021 Refinitiv Project Finance International (PFI) Yearbook named the BAKAD project, the first concession project of special significance in Kazakhstan, as the Europe Transport Deal of the Year. Over the past two years, AEQUITAS has been acting as a local legal counsel advising lenders on the BAKAD project finance and assisting to adapt the international project finance structure to Kazakhstan legal environment. Allen & Overy was a global legal counsel to the development banks.

PFI Awards is the industry’s most prestigious annual award. This inclusion is a world-wide recognition of the complexity of the project and collective achievements of all participants.
