16th International Eurasian Pharmaceuticals Forum

On 4-5 March 2025, Almaty hosted the 16th International Eurasian Pharmaceuticals Forum. For many years, the Forum has been the leading platform in the EAEU uniting the key participants of the pharmaceutical market, both international and local, with the participation of governmental agencies representing the countries of the region.

For several years AEQUITAS has been acting as a legal partner for the Forum.

AEQUITAS Partner, Larissa Yemelyanova, spoke at the Forum about "Transfer of technologies: recommendations on structuring of strategic partnership to ensure the balance of interests of foreign and local manufacturers". Her speech accumulated extensive experience of AEQUITAS in the sphere of structuring of strategic investment partnerships. She also provided recommendations on potential remedies in the course of transfer of technologies and its legal formalization.

Mr. Dmitry Kozenkov, Head of Pfizer Kazakhstan, and Ms. Botagoz Begimbetova, Operations Director of a major Kazakhstan pharmaceutical plant VIVA Pharm, spoke next to Larissa during this session and shared their successful experiences of transferring technologies in Kazakhstan. Mr. Zokhid Ermatov, Executive Director of the State Medical Insurance Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan, spoke about the measures aimed at provision of medicines in Uzbekistan.

At the end of the Forum, Larissa took part in the Round Table with regulators and business representatives from the Eurasian countries where they discussed topical issues of the pharmaceutical industry of the region relating to changes in the price formation approaches and the upcoming transition to registration of medicines according to the EAEU rules starting 1 January 2026.
